Greetings from our Grand Worthy Matron
This past year has been an exciting one. I have traveled across the State of Virginia representing the Grand Chapter to let other Sister Chapters know that we are still viable and strong.
As part of Grand Chapter ongoing efforts to ensure that everyone understands their part in keeping the legacy of The Order alive I urge you to keep the lines of communication open. The only way we can grow and move forward is to identify and create swift solutions to the challenges we may face. With everyone’s cooperation I am confident we can overcome the challenges of tomorrow.
This is an important concern to me. For the welfare of the Grand Chapter let’s foster a climate of love and sincere friendship.
Our Secretary/Treasurer workshop went extremely well. There were over 200 participants from all over the State in attendance. I would also like to note that because of your generosity I was able to bring the crown back to Virginia during the Conference of Grand Matrons and Grand Patrons held on May 17, 2013 in the great State of Ohio.
I am equally excited to announce that we are working diligently to incorporate our financials into a comprehensive compliant ready program parallel to the Brothers.
I have instituted a webpage that provides up to the minute information and have addressed all incoming concerns received by the webmaster within a 1-2 day of receipt.
Two mentionable highlights of my year was spending Whit Sunday on May 19th with Sister Beatrice Harrell PWM Chapter #50 in District #1 who celebrated her 100th birthday on May 31, 2013 and a special evening with Sister Lula Price, 100 years old, a member of District # 6 at her Centennial Birthday celebration.
For planning purposes, please bear in mind that I will reserve the right to pre-empt subordinate chapter events for Statewide Workshops that are deemed beneficial to all members that are required to be in attendance even when dispensations have come to the Grand Chapter.
As part of our dedication to foster an organization that is based on the bible
I continue to urge all of you to honor your commitment to God.
I will always be grateful for the love and all other acts of kindness you have shown me this past year. With God’s help it is my hope that you will continue to support me during 2014 ensuing Eastern Star year.
In closing my message is “Let’s Get Back to the Center“.
